Dear Members

As a responsible business practice, the Fund has placed measures in place to ensure the safety of our members and our staff amidst the unprecedented times we find ourselves in. We subscribe to the principles of social distancing and are taking the precautionary measures to contribute and play our part in trying to limit the spread of the virus.

While our office remains open, we encourage members of the Fund to instead engage with us by:

  1. Calling us on 021 418 4140
  2. Emailing us on info@capefund.com
  3. Sending a message via the website on www.capefund.com

While face-to-face contact is ordinarily our preferred method of contact, we are in extraordinary times and for now we encourage a deviation from this method of contact. If the need exists and if it is your only or preferred option to visit the Fund, we have put in place appropriate measures (including sanitizing equipment) to mitigate any potential risk to you and to ensure the well being of our members and our staff during engagements at the Fund’s office. If you visit the office, we urge you to do so alone and not in groups.

If you are due to retire or if any other benefit event applies to you (for example resignation, disability), we can accommodate you via a skype call if this is your preference. Please speak to one of our consultants to arrange this, if it is of interest to you.

Our monthly retirement and investment workshops will be placed on hold during the month of March until the situation has improved and we are able to deliver this service to you responsibly. We will have additional workshops in the future to make up for the ones that are not held during these times.

In every other respect, it is business as usual for the Fund. The Board of trustees and the Fund are unwavering in their commitment to protect the interests of all our members, including our pensioners. Please note that we will shortly be issuing communication on the investment outlook in light of the current (global) market volatility and the impact on financial markets.

We appreciate your understanding during these times and urge you to contact us if you have any queries or concerns in this regard. We will continue to keep you informed of any further developments.
